Speedpics? Tell me about it...
Welcome to Speedpics, home to Dutch motor racing photography. This site was created in 1995 by both Bartus G. and Gerard Roest in order to present their work of over 30 years, following the international world of Formula 1 and other international motorsport series.
Bartus and Gerard have been travelling around the globe since the early eighties covering numerous events and photographing for international photo-agencies, press agencies, magazines and newspapers. When Nika Lauda won the last F1 GP in the Netherlands in 1985, the pictures that appeared the following days in the international media were taken by Speedpics, although the name Speedpics itself was introduced in 1995. In the last 15 years the two founders built their careers in other areas than photography, but during race weekends both are still present at various race-events in order to use the action, the light and the colors and create Speedpics.
In the last few years the focus was not only on F1, but also on Indycars, Le Mans, ALMS, DTM and most recently on the WTCC to cover the action and provide international media with an independent view on the action around the tracks. Not just pictures, but creating a timestamp of international motorsports, giving the fans a view through the lenses of true professionals with only one focus, making you witness of what we see as true speedpics always remembering the motto that describes the spirit of the company, no pics like Speedpics!
For the year 2011 we have been invited and accredited to attend all the major events, so do check our regular updates or apply for our mailing list if you are a professional in racing or professionally interested in our work. First job in 2011? F1 wintertesting...
